HINT-EDINNA Joint Meeting

In cooperation with the EDINNA Network (www.edinna.eu), the HINT Project co-organised the 7th EDINNA General Assembly that took place in Constanta, Romania on the 28-29th of May 2013. One of the goals of the meeting was to exchange information on the needs and requirements for the education and training in inland waterways transport (IWT) between educational institutions and the industry stakeholders. The meeting was among others used to present HINT project activities and acquaint the EDINNA network with their added value to the IWT education and training sector, in particular dealing with topics on workforce and professional qualifications in IWT. The creation of link between the educational sector and the real needs of the Danube IWT industry is key to bridging the gap of inadequate or insufficient skilled workers for this industry sector.

Pro Danube International, represented by Mr Manfred Seitz, PDI Secretary General, contributed to the meeting by presenting the educational activities planned in the field of the future use of LNG in navigation.

More information on this meeting and the HINT Project activities in general are provided in the 2nd HINT Newsletter. Further project information is available for the wide public on the newly launched project web site www.hintproject.net.
